Boomerang Fox Dash is a small platformer created during the Game Engines and Scripting course. It uses the popular Sunny Lands asset pack, well known from the Brackeys jump and run tutorial series. Since the focus of the project was on engine functionality rather than art, this choice was perfectly suitable.

To support the gameplay, I extended the original asset pack with custom elements such as a throwable boomerang and checkpoint flags. The game currently features one long level in which the player gradually learns new mechanics. The goal is to reach a hidden diamond treasure deep inside a sunken temple.
On the way, players must overcome various enemies and obstacles through parkour style movement. There are checkpoints, but as in classic Mario games, only a limited number of lives before a full reset occurs.
This project helped me learn a lot about level design, tilemaps, and how to introduce mechanics step by step.

At the end of the course, we also had to pitch the project to the group.
