About Me

Hey!

I'm Yannik, a 21-year-old Game Design student at Macromedia University in Stuttgart. I love immersing myself in creative environments, exploring new ideas, and pushing boundaries to bring unique and meaningful experiences to life.

I discovered Unity when I was just 14 and instantly fell in love with making games. After high school, I briefly studied computer science but quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit. The program was too theoretical and didn’t align with my real motivation. I’ve always just wanted to make games.

This realization led me to study Game Design directly, where I now dedicate myself fully to turning ideas into interactive experiences.

"Why fix the gameplay when you can distract with even bigger explosions?"

Over the years, I’ve participated in several game jams and contributed to countless Minecraft community projects. One of the most formative experiences has been working on JustChunks, a feature-rich minecraft server where I helped design and balance original game modes, implement custom mechanics with plugins and datapacks, and manage content updates.

I thrive in collaborative environments and love surrounding myself with creative minds. Especially in crunch phases, I find energy in pushing boundaries and bringing something impressive to life. I'm passionate about systemic design and creating mechanics that shape how players think and act.

"What do you mean my game is too hard?! Players like Dark Souls too."

Some of my all-time favorite games are Disco Elysium, BioShock Infinite, and Civilization, for their bold narratives, unique mechanics, and lasting impact. I also play a lot of League of Legends, Minecraft, and pretty much any indie title I come across.

"Scope control? I prefer to call it feature freedom."

In my free time, I enjoy playing almost every ball sport you can think of.
