BioMandate 2045 is a narrative, turn-based decision-making and simulation game developed for the BioDesign Challenge. Set in the year 2045, players take on the role of a global biotechnology regulator. Each round, they must decide whether to approve, reject or postpone new technologies. Every decision impacts public trust, political stability and economic support. The challenge is to stay in office as long as possible without losing the balance between these three forces.

I led the project as both lead programmer and project manager. I created the original game concept, designed the core systems and built the first playable prototype in Unity. The initial idea came to me suddenly, and I quickly drafted the structure based on inspiration from games like Papers Please. I also developed the first UI layout in Figma, which was later expanded by our design team.

Despite initial doubts about whether a game would be taken seriously in the BioDesign Challenge, our team believed strongly that games can communicate ethical questions in a powerful and accessible way. The project received very positive feedback and was awarded the prize for "Outstanding Social Critique" during the final exhibition in New York. Following the event, we were invited to present the game as part of a museum exhibition in New York. While not yet fully confirmed, the showcase is likely to launch this fall.
